Also, apart from the crystals, the infected can get other mutations and side effects that can vary from person to person, like schizophrenia, a bigger tail than usual, or in the worse of cases, you can turn into a zombie-like creature like this poor fella Oripathy manifests itself in the form of black Originium crystals erupting from the infected's bodies, and without the right treatments, they're gonna die in a few hours, and their bodies will become new vectors of the infection. Originium needs to be refined, otherwise you'll get Oripathy Vehicles uses it as fuel, firearms as powder, and so on. A black crystalline mineral that is used widely as an energy source. It is an aggressive and terminal disease with no know cure (luckily, spreading through physical contact with the infected is unlikely), and it's only contracted by anyone who has been exposing to unrefined Originium. Oripathy is the dissease that affects the world of Arknights. Who knew Ubisoft could pull off a plot like this man… either I’m overthinking this or this game is just wild. What does the parasite have as well to fight REACT? Is the existence of the parasite something that will always occur regardless of the universe? Does the parasite hold and conquer universes? How many times have our incursions played out exactly the same? How many universes can exist where REACT failed? Where T or C isn’t contained? How many other planets has the parasite conquered? How much does the parasite control? How long has it been on Earth?Īdding onto that is the existence of alternate universes due to singularities and programs, or at least thought to exist. The fact this threat has existed since the dawn of the universe opens up so many questions and nightmares. Soon after, the parasite began to spread, heading to diffrent parts of the universe and eventually one day, hitting us.
So, Ash’s final report in T or C reveals that the parasite came into existence some time after the Big Bang, AKA the creation of our universe as a whole.
Spoilers for the origins of the chimera btw. Seriously, this is the last game where I thought I’d be thinking about how big the universe is, and how this parasite deals with it.
